Finally posted my images at San Clemente Island. Haven't figured out how the noise is gettting into my images. Happens in the conversion from RAW to PS.

Dave:
Nice! You really scored w/ that soupfin shark! Looks like a curious one. Excellent touch of flash to light him up.
I have noticed the same "noise problems" when using the ACR converter. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it has driven me back to using the Fuji converter instead - even though it is harder to use. Do you get better results with Nikon Capture or Phase I DSLR?
Cheers
James
I download with Nikon View 6 and then edit with PS. When I open the image in Nikon view 6 or in Nikon Capture the images look clean. It is somehow the conversion or PS that is adding noise. Before August I never had this problem even though I used the same programs and work flow.
Might not be even closely related but check out http://www.vincentbockaert.com/Tutorials/pscs_raw.asp and see the differences in these two conversions. Can't wait for Photoshop CS.
I've already tried to buy PS cs. I think it might be the answer as well.
The original photoshop Adobe Camera Raw definitely has problems with noise. I'm glad to see that the new version appears to be better.
Cheers
James
