Shrimp question

6 posts
  1. Hi,

here ist another picture from Lembeh.

I'm quite insecure if it shows a Periclimenes commensalis, P. amboinensis or even P. cornutus (which ist not so likely.

    Any hints?

    Thanks and cheers

  2. Possibly Laomenes amboinensis

  3. Possibly Laomenes amboinensis

Hmm, they look all so similar... :-(

    Any other suggestions?

  4. I shot one of these in Bali and Humann and DeLoach show a very similar shrimp to this as Laomenes amboinensis in their recent Tropical Pacific Reef Creature ID guide. The yellow bits are white in theirs but they note that the colour matches the host crinoid.

  5. Also if you look at the eye, the "bumpy" bit on the end is distinctive for Laomenes.

    Cheers,

    Marli

  6. Yes you're right, I already IDed it as Laomenes amboinensis some time ago.

    Cheers
