Condition...

It's all in excellent condition! Pretty lightly used (2 weeks use), then the housing was refurbished by Ikelite (new electronics b/c of a cable issue, new rubber tips/caps, lubricated/cleaned).

In original boxes with original manuals

Housing: $400 including shipping in 48 US states UPS ground

Strobe, cable, deluxe ball & socket arms: $500 including shipping in 48 US States UPS ground

Does not include camera (G9), though I suppose I would sell this if you wanted a complete package and don't have a G7/G9.

- I own a G9 housing. Will it work with a G10?

- If not completely, what functionality will not work?

- Can it be retrofitted?

- If so, can you please provide a quote for doing this?

The same housing works for both the camera's ? was there any alteration done ? Was this originally a housing for the G7 or G9 ?

This is a G9 housing. There was never any alteration done. The Ikelite site lists this as a G7-G9 housing (discontinued), so presumably it is the same for both cameras. They listed the G7 and G9 housing as separate housings (with the G7 discontinued) when I bought my G9, but now those 2 are the same. Perhaps they are using the same approach with the G10 when in fact it is the same, too. Anyway, I will post the answer if Ikelite responds to my question...

Ikelite writes the G9 and G10 are not compatible: "Sorry but the answers is no to all your questions. Although the housings look similar, they are different and we do not offer retro-fits. Thanks for the inquiry."

This is my same dilemma. I have a 40D and Ikelite lists the same housing for 40D & 50D. But I'm talking to someone who uses a 40D and said that the case had to be overhauled by Ikelite to be used for his new 50D.

Maybe it's different with point 'n shoots.

The LCD on the G9 is 1/2 inch wider than the G7, so all the buttons are offset. The housings are not interchangable.

The G10 introduced more dials on the body and a slightly different shape. It is a bit taller.

Definitely will not work with the G9 housing.

Can you confirm which housing this is? You listed the strobe number as the Ikelite part number. Is it a 6147 or a 6147.09?
