Any Canon S90 underwater use reviews?

4 posts
  1. Title says it all... managed to break my plastic lever to shut my OEM G9 housing & considering moving onto a Canon S90 but wondering if anyone has given it the go ahead to try it underwater & any results? On the interim I have epoxy'ed the lever back together & housing works ok for now.. but given the nature of salt water, I'd rather not trust that - not to mention the OEM housing buttons are starting to stick...

Most specifically are the wheel components worth the unti, and/or the shutter lag improved over a G9?

    Any feedback would be appreciated!

  2. There are a few user reports trickling out on ScubaBoard. Check in the Canon subforum.

The FIX housing is highly exciting, but you're in for serious sticker shock coming from the Canon OEM housings.

  3. The S90 has some great reviews the past couple of months while being used in the Ike and Canon housings. We did receive our first shipment of Fix housings today and WOW is all I have to say. The camera has very similar underwater performance to the G11 as far as image quality goes. We will be out playing with it in the next week and have sample images with the Fix housing and Inon S2000 and S&S YS110a strobes.

Mike - what are the wide-angle options for the s90? Can the Zen 105 and/or Fix 130 attachments be used?
