Manatee in August

2 posts
  1. For sure August is not the season for manatee interaction in Florida, but it's still tempting to give it a try....

will go to florida in mid aug, wanna spend a day or two to see manateees, any recommendation on where to go, Crystal River, Homosassa, or any other area?

    many thanks :>

In August the Manatees are everywhere; and that's the problem, they are very spread out so that you could see them in and around most of the waterways and coasts off Florida. Problem is that makes it a lot more hit and miss, as they will tend to aggregate much less in areas where the water is warmer in winter like the springs, power plant cooling water runoff areas etc.
