Was playing around with the Nikon 105mm VR/Nikon 1.4 Tele/MacroMate Doubler and liked this shot of Greenling Eggs. Very slow to focus and needed lots of light. Maybe 1 in 10 shots are "in focus".

awesome!
Thanks here is one more of cabezon eggs. There is one in the middle that is looking right into the lens. This is a 50% crop. Don't know if I had the doubler down or not.

Here's lookin' at YOU kid!

love the first shot of the Greenling Eggs!
Both photos are very nice, it must have been very difficult, I'm sure there's always a little surge in the pacific NW

Love the look of both these images
Biggest issue was getting enough light on the subjects for the lens to grab focus. With the focus light attached to the top of my housing and the long port the subjects did not get "direct" light, shaded by the port. So next time need to put the focus light on strobe arm so it can get past the port and direct light on the subject.
Here is one with a little guy breaking out of his egg. Believe me I did not see that until pulled it up on the computer.
