Long weekend in Sharm suggestions

3 posts
  1. The wife and I have persuaded her parents to look after our kids for a long weekend in September and we're hoping to get a few days in Sharm. I'm hoping to fly out Wednesday, dive Thursday Friday and Saturday and fly back Sunday - but we may have to fly out Thursday - depends how much arm twisting we can do. This is likely to be our only diving this year - so I'm keen to get it right.

Any suggestions as to how to do this best - any ideas if there's any operators that offer long weekends. We're both instructors so anyway we can avoid the first day 'checkout diving' would be great. I know that some places check you out whatever your certs.

  2. The best day boat operation I have found at Sharm is at Sharks Bay / Umbi Diving. Take a look at Oonas www site. Otherwise, Oonas Dive Club (no connection...) at Na'ama Bay is good too but you have to put up with the melee at Travco every morning...

  3. Hi

The main problem with heading to straight to Ras Mo or Tiran is usually it is drift diving so a bit harder to do a weight check....but not impossible!!

Have a look at www.redseasnapper.com, we are associated with Emperor Divers and have access to beach at Sharks bay, all of emperors boats and also run safari / mini cruzes. We leave from Naama Jetty so also avoid travco mayhem, however Naama can also be fun!! We are also in negotiations with a new rib service. 16 min to Shark reef from travco or 15 min to tiran from sharks bay!!

We are primarily trying to serve the photographic community, small groups / more freedom whilst trying not to fall foul of unguided diving which is technically illegal in Egypt. Take a look and if you have any questions drop me a line
