Canon 780IS

I just got a canon 780IS and I am about to but the Ikelite underwater case. Any feedback on this camera for snorkelling and scuba? Thanks.

The Canon SD series are nice, inexpensive cameras but lack a lot of the manual features that most underwater photographers desire. I don't have any hands on experience with the 780IS, but if you are only looking for some simple snapshots, the camera with the Ikelite housing will work great. Anything more, you may want to look into a camera with manual controls.

thanks for the tips... what example of manual cameras would you suggest?

i havent tried the camera underwater yet... i've been practicing in the pool and it works well... i will try to go snorkel this weekend and see how it is...
