The Bandito Brothers, Jason Rosenberg and Stewart Hendler, along with Shane Hurlbut are big fans of the HDSLR and use them extensively. This new commercial shot for the US Navy was completely shot on the Canon EOS 7D and 5DMk2, and includes some underwater sequences.
I don't think SmugMug can be embedded in WP so here is the link jic:
Great footage-it shows just how far these cameras have come-not long ago you would have assumed that this was shot with a "broadcast quality" DV cam or similar.
It almost made me want to join up too-until I remembered what a bad idea that had been last time!

How come so many brits want to join the US Navy? Did 'Bliar' do so bad?
You have to remember a lot of the look came from the lenses they used. This was shot with Panavision Primos (now you can't even get those lenses for anything Canon due to the lawsuit from last year), Nikon FD and Zeiss ZE lenses, with a mix of long primes from Canon.
In fact they are now shooting a feature film with just the HDSLR from Canon. I've seen some of the post corrected clips and it's pretty amazing what they've done with 600 line video to be able to project on 60-120ft screens at 2k.
