FCP filter to reduce wave sounds?

  1. Anyone have a suggestion on a Final Cut filter that best can reduce ocean background noise and leave the voice alone. I just don't have the time to go through them all! Thanks.

  2. If you can get your hands on the Final Cut Training DVD for FCP 5, there is a section on Soundtrack Pro where they cut the wave noise from an interview. It's pretty cool as it's all from the Jack McCoy's (Probably the best surf filmmaker ever!!!) surf film Blue Horizon.

  3. Don't know if this will help, but...

Select the clip, right click (control click if using the standard Mac mouse), scroll down to Send To>Sound Track Audio File. Once it loads in STP, find an area where there's just wind noise and, within the TL area, click and drag to highlight the wind noise. From the menu bar, go to Process>Set Noise Print. Then deselect the highlighted area by clicking in the TL, then go to Process>reduce Noise. You will have to play with the settings to get the desired results (hopefully).

    Hope this helps.
