Hi i'm very close to buying a canon HFS10/HFS11 with an Ikelite housing (or something simialr priced) but was wondering if anyone else out there had had the chance to use this camera in this housing and how easy it was to do MWB, view the screen etc. I was also wondering what are the main differences between the two cameras and does the HFS11 warrant the extra cash? Any feedback on these issues would be great as I'm itching to get hold of one of these cameras and get using it.
Thanks

The HFS-10 has a 32GB Internal Flash drive, the HFS-11 has a 64GB Internal Flash Drive. The HFS-11 has two Image Stabilization modes: Dynamic SuperRange Optical (lens shift) / Standard SuperRange Optical (lens shift) - the HFS-10 being older only comes with Standard Superange Optical - not sure what value either would be underwater, I generally turn mine off when shooting u/w. (I have a Sony camera)
Other than that, the two cameras are identical. Your call on whether that's worth it to you or not.
Shooting in HD with either camera, your limiting factor will likely be battery life, not recording time in terms of how often you have to open the housing.
Hi thanks for the advice. What kind of setup do you have. Do you know what the ikelite housings are link to use with this camera or similar. Do you know of a btter housing around the same price as the Ikelite.
Thanks

I have an Amphibico EVO.
I don't know of any other housings as inexpensive as the Ikelite.
Most of the other HFS-10/11 housing options:
Equinox HD6 $950 + $369 for a rear mounted monitor
Gates HF-S11 $2499
Aditech Mangrove MVHDC-S $3200
Light & Motion Bluefin $3900
If price is a concern you might also consider the Canon HF-200 with the Canon WP-V1 housing. It's not as good a camera as the HFS-10 and the housing is limited to 130' and only has 5 controls but the whole package can be bought for under $1000. It does take an external w/a lens and the camera itself has an u/w color correction mode.
