Ikelite Ds 51 verses Ds 160

  1. If using a canon 450D with canon 60mm macro lens, would there be any difference to the shot with using the Ikelite DS51 rather then the DS 160. I can obiously read the difference in specs from the website but i was wondering if in macro it would make a difference?

If there is any difference please let me know

    Thanks

    Matt

There would be a difference as the color temperature of the light they produce is very different. This will affect the color balance between the strobe-light subject and any ambient-light background.

They also have different angles of coverage, but this would be less obvious in macro situations.

  3. The DS-51's have a much narrower beam which is big help when shooting macro in my opinion. The wider strobes light up too much crap in the background.

    Cheers
