Fisheye Fix 1000DX - any good for video lighting?

1 posts
  1. Hi,

I'm considering various video lighting options to use with my 7D setup. I'm looking at the Fisheye Fix 1000DX light, which has a quoated lumen output of 1000 but the Backscatter tests rate it less at 777 lumens.

I expect that I'd need two to do the job probably, which still makes them a nicely priced video light setup if they can address the following issues:

    1. Realistically do they have enough light output for WA shooting (e.g. wrecks, mostly at depth where it's darker), or do I have to go up to the 2000 lumen head space

    2. I presume the 8500K temp light is too cool and will require filters to warm up, which will eat a stop I guess as well.

I'm hoping someone might have practical experience which I can benefit from.

    thanks in advance.
