This is the info I got from Kin of Lily M, seems the same boat as all the other guys have used on here....I have the boat reserved up to the end of this weekend,...just a minimum of 3 divers needed
Thank you for your email, the attachment is the general information of our services, we are the only company that has had success in the activity of diving with sailfish, we created this tour a few years ago.
Andy Byatt came with the BBC in 2005 with Capt. Anthony to film the sailfish on the balls of bait, since then, several profesional underwater photographers and videographers have come with us for the sailfish and whale sharks underwater, we have been featured in National Geographic and other dive mags.
For the 2010 both our vessels, the "Keen M" 41 ft. and the "Lilly M" 36 ft are already reserved everyday until march 16, we do not guarantee sailfish on balls of bait after this date, we can only guarantee single or couple of sailfish.
One day is not enough to assure you that we will show you one or a couple sailfish, specially after the time that we have historically have seen them, the weather and water quality is another aspect that we have to be careful with.
The Lilly M is available from april 25 to may 1st, at that time of the year we see some white marlin too, it could get interesting, as I saild before, you need at least 3 to 5 days to get the work done profesionally, all the profesional photographers stay from 8 days to 16 days.
We are also booking the 2011 season.
Water temp in the winter is from 70 to 75 degrees, a 3 ml wetsuit will be perfect.
The whale shark tour is different to the sailfish dive, in the summer we have calm waters and the whale sharks are very docil and calm creatures, easy to photograph, the trip its sold per person, but if you are a profesional you will need to reserve the boat privately because there are very strict rules in regards to whale shark tour because its targeted for regular people, tourists that are not profesional divers, it is a government permit, only 2 people in the water with the guide, out by 2 pm from the protected area, etc, if you hire us privately we usually leave very early (6 am), get there before all touristic groups, and stay after they leave the area, back at the dock around 3 ot 4 pm @ $900.-usd per day for up to 10 guests.
If you wish to make a reservation please let me know, the boat requires a 50% deposit at the moment of reservation to reserve the days, and full prepayment prior to arrival date for reservations of 6 days or more, in case of cancellation due to extreme weather Keen M will refund the funds before your departure from Isla, but in the winter its usually very rough weather and they go.
You will need a golf cart for the trip, we can help you reserving it, the cost of it is $55.-usd per each 24 hours. The tanks are $15.-usd each to rent for the day (only for sailfish dive), you will need to exchange them every night.
We can arrange transfers from Cancun Airport to the dock where you take the boat to come to Isla Mujeres, you will need to take a taxi to come to the hotel from the dock, the taxi office is right there.
The hotels are very small but comfortable, on the island, please visit the following websites, they require 50% deposit of the stay 60 days prior to arrival date and it will be better if we reserve the space as soon as possible, please check www.playamedialuna.com, www.villakiin.com, www.rocamar-hotel.com, www.cabanasdelmar.com.
Only the hotels take credit cards Visa and Mastercard only (no American Express). The boat, the golf cart, the transfers, the dive shop for tanks, etc. will only take wire transfers, cash or travel checks, no foreign personal checks will be accepted in Mexico, wire transfers take 1 to 5 bussiness days to clear in Mexico from foreing accounts.
I will be happy to answer any question that you may have, please email if you do.
I will be waiting for your email.
Best Regards,
Kin Mendillo
