attaching sunray 2000 with phenom Z7 LE

  1. I am trying to attach the arms for the Sunray 2000 from L & M to an Amphibico Phenom Z7 LE housing. The supplied gizmos do not seem to allow for such an attachment. Amphibico's response was basically, "I dunno." L & M eventually replied, but I have not heard anything back from them since clarifying the problem.

Does anybody have any knowledge of the two pieces of apparatus that might enable me to make the attachment?

I did not find prior reference to this topic -- apologies if I am overlooking such a reference.

    Thank you,

  2. You can attach them by drilling another 3/8" hole in the gas bracket, but it doesn't work as supplied.

  3. Amphibicos Discovery 10 Watt Arc Light arms and the L&M Sunray 2000 arms appear to both be loc-line joints. If they are both the same size (I assume 3/4 of an inch) then you should be able to get the bottom joint with attachment from Amphibico and replace the bottom joint of your Sunray arms with that. That joint and attachment are designed for Amphibico housings. I believe it should fit the top groves in the housing and the ones in front of the handles as well.

I wanted a quick disconnect fitting to go from my Sunray 1000 lock line arms to my housing. My solution: from the lock line arm I have the lock line "fixed mounts" pn 51895. That is mounted via bolt to one side of a Stingray Universal Mount quick connect that L&M makes. They are spring loaded quick connects that have a male and female piece. . Buy a set of these as a set for each arm. The other part of the mount gets permanetly bolted to your housing or handles or wherever on your housing using bolts. When configured right you can quickly snap on and off your light arms to the housing, works great for transport. I also added the same stingray universal mounts to the other end of the lock line arm at the light head ends as well. Check out www. modularhose.com for all sort of lockline adapters to make whatever you are doing work. You can get the Stingray Universal mounts from any L&M dealer, I got mine from www.marinevisions.com Email me direct and I can show you photo.
