  1. Most of you will know already, but Apple have released another update for Aperture 3 today.

This is the second time in just over a month that Apple updated the same component. The first update was released in early February.

About Aperture SlideShow Support Update 1.1

This update addresses an issue affecting the playback of HD video clips used in Aperture 3 slideshows on Snow Leopard. Audio and video tracks now remain properly synced in video clips that have been trimmed. The update is recommended for all users of Aperture 3.

  3. Apple are clearly busy adding tweaks to Aperture 3, just releasing 3.02

Improved XMP importing / exporting features are notable.

Also a concern previously expressed in this forum about importing as Folders as in Aperture 2 appears to have been addressed.

It's good to see they are serious about this application, I was worried for a while with Aperture 2.

So far, I couldn't be happier with Aperture 3.

A summary of the update features here:

  4. For those of us that use both Lightroom and Aperture-

"Aperture 3 added the ability to import data from XMP sidecar files, but wasn’t able to read GPS data, color labels and ratings from programs like Lightroom. Aperture 3.0.2 changes this, all of this data is now imported automatically."

In fact, the upgrade although innocuously called 3.0.2 is a pretty major one!
