We are going on a JASA trip next week and we are thinking about which wetsuit we should take. I have read some reports that state something around 24ºC - 75ºF in this time of the year but the travel agent says something like 20ºC - 68ºF which makes a difference when spending a long time underwater... So, does anyone know what is the temperature know?
Thank you!!!

Last year in Turks and Caicos, water averaged 74 F the week of March 15. I would expect Bahamas to be very similar.
Low to mid 70's sounds right.

JASA should be able to tell you ...or Laz217 here on wetpixel (he works with them).
Turks and Caicos is often a few degrees warmer than Bahamas in Feb/march.
Weather patterns can make quite a difference. A few yrs ago, diving not too far from there, water temp went from 75 to 68 overnight due to a storm and current shift. I went from adequte to shivering and was only saved by another diver who loaned me a spare suit to put under mine.
Take layers just in case things cool off. I dive a 5mm but also take a 3mm shortie & 7mm hoooded vest. Plan on lots of water time with long dives at Tiger Beach (like 2hrs+). Say hi to Emma for me - hope she's home.
Thank you all!
Hard decision: I have an old 5mm (around 3mm now...) which could be not enough, and a new 6mm semidry which could be too much...
Last time we were required to wear a hood. So if you have a 3mm hooded vest add it to the 5mm (now 3mm) and you should be good. I went with a 5/3mm and the hooded vest for a February trip last year.

If I may add another question onto this thread, does anyone have suggestion for the required black gloves we'll need for a JASA trip this upcoming summer, like ultra-thin ones for mid-summer warm water? Thank you!
I am taking the thinnest I found (they are made by TUSA) as I never wear any. Luisa just went to a store and found a pair of cressi reaction dark fins for 9€!
This is the almost all the UWP I am trying to take with me! It is good to travel with "significant other"!!!

That is some kit you are traveling with..... makes my one housing 2 port and 2 strobes look like child's play

You sure that's a diving excursion you' re going on and not a photographic gear swap meet....... Have a geat time!

The water temp here in the Florida Keys ( not too far from the Bahamas) has been colder than usual this winter and spring. Before this year, I never saw temps at depth lower than 73. Last Saturday I went diving on the Duane (70-100 feet) and the temp was 68. I had on a 5mm with a very old 3 mm hooded vest and got a little chilled! My right hand was the coldest because I wear a very skinny glove on that hand.
Have a good time but don't assume, call JASA, they will tell you what the temps are running.

Lived for 7 years in Nassau with 3000 dives. The water is still cold this time of year. Expect around 70 - 75 degrees... Hope that helps!
Just came back! Temperature was 24º (75ºF) except one day that was 22º (72ºF). Great time and never enough water time! I will write a report when I get done with all the missed week work...
