Remote control of Sony CX550 camera?

4 posts
  1. Hello, video gurus. I've got a quick question about the Sony CX550 camcorder. It is hard to find out anything about how the camera's manual exposure and white balance are accomplished. I know that whitebalance can be done via remote macro, per Light & Motion's Stingray+ housing, but can manual exposure be accomplished via infrared as well?

  2. According to L & M's updated website, anything on the monitor can be transfered to the handles. [ infra red ] I have just bought this camera and am now saving to buy the new housing.

    Hi Eric

L&M (or BF G2 - later) Stingray+ G2 and the left Menu handle. The right one has MWB one push button. With these two control handles everything in the camcorder menu is accessible and controlled.

  4. I'm not sure because I haven't actually used this camera and housing yet but I was under the impression that the exposure could be assigned to the front manual control knob on the CX. The L&M Bluefin housing has a control for this knob but the Stingray does not... Is it possible to adjust exposure from inside the menu?
