Nov. 21-Dec. 4 Whaleshark divetrip, Southern Leyte

  1. Hi All,

I'm taking a group of divers to try out Southern Leyte in the Philippines. I've got 2 spots left and the resort is booked out to me. Includes 12½ days of diving, 3 dives per day, 3 Buffet Meals, A/C twin share beachfront cottage, airport transfers, domestic flight from Manila to Tacloban airport, Nitrox.

Southern Leyte is one of the few places where scuba is allowed with whalesharks. November is the begining of the whaleshark season! There's tons of critters there, nudis, froggies, lots of wall dives, muck dives.

Not included are 1 or 2 (depending on when you arrive) nights at a hotel in Manila (I can book that for you too, about $ 100/ room /night, breakfast included), mandatory overnight on Dec. 3 if you fly out on the 4th, some are staying till the 5th to see some of Manila and do some pearl shopping.

U$ 2900. Please email me directly, stewart@stewartsy.com and I can send you full details.

  2. Hi Stu,

Had a lovely time in Sogod Bay several years ago, but latest I heard was that scuba diving has been banned, or discouraged, with the whale sharks.

This shouldn't be a problem, we snorkelled with the whale sharks and got to spend much more time with them than the two guys that decided to go on scuba.

    Have a great trip.

    Regards

    Nigel

  3. Hi Nigel

According to a friend of mine, she's the coral reef policy officer for WWF Philippines, it is still allowed. :goodpost: But thanks for the info, I may decide to snorkel if it means more time with the critters!

    Regards

    Stu
