Blue Heron Bridge, Canon 7d

  1. Hey Wetpixelers,

here is a selection of SOME of my favorite shots from our recent trip to the Blue Heron Bridge with my new canon 7d

These aren't necessarily the best shots, or the best finds, although some of them are ;)

BHB is incredible in its diversity of unusual marine life, and I never tire of it.

Any criticism on what I can improve on is appreciated. thanks

    Matt

  2. That's great Matt, looks like you had a great time. Did you find all these guys on one dive? I have never seen a baby slipper lobster. Very cool. The mantis image is extraordinary , I'd spend some time working with that one.

    Cheers,

    Steve

  3. I love the mantis shrimp shot too. backlighting?? ;)

  4. Yuo another vote for the shrimp!

Can you let us know what lens/es you were using please?

Great shots and thanks for sharing them

    Adam

  5. Yep! The shrimp shot is really special!

Like Steve mentioned it could use a little bit more postprocessing.

    Thanks a lot for sharing

    Cheers

  6. The mantis image is extraordinary ;)

  7. Extraordinary lighting with the Scorpion and Mantis...

  8. Clearly, the "eyes" have it (a terrible pun as we are starting election fever on this side of the Atlantic)!

    Are you snooting or edge-lighting?

    Tim

    ;)

  9. thanks guys ;)

To answer Adam's question, I am using the canon 60mm macro f2.8.

I did not snoot the mantis or the scorpionfish. I turned off my strobes, and used a flashlight

for the scorpionfish, and I did the same thing for the mantis, but used about f8 i think with some backlighting.

I have no idea what post processing is really, and I don't think I have the programs for serious stuff. The only

editing I do is to crop a little bit here and there, and sometimes the fix color if it doesn't look right.

  10. Matt,

Love the images, especially those wonderfully pattern stargazers.

    Keep up the great work.

    Cheers,
