I have been playing about, and trying to find my best images; most of them have appeared somewhere or other, but I thought that I'd try and pull them together.

Hey , Stonefish have feelings too.
If your goal was to showoff you've succeeded admirably. There are a a ton of really outstanding images in there Tim. It's an interesting excercise to try and capture them all in one place. I just clicked on the slideshow and let them all come rolling by and I enjoyed it very much.
After enjoying the show three times I had a couple of thoughts. The watermark you use in the corners works better for me than the big one across the image. It detracts in a couple of cases. Maybe change the opacity if you want to leave it large? I also think some of the black and whites have more potential than as your showing them now. Processing B&W is tough to do really well I think.
You said on the site that these are the images that you would like to represent your passion for diving. That comes through loud and clear. ![]()
Cheers partner,
Steve
I think you have a good variety. I struggled with this on my personal site. Tmintz.ca website I worked to only have images I favour and that represent a broad range of my images. I keep Pbase and Flickr for a more stock/gallery presentation. I still need to work at rounding it out better. Not sure if I will ever be fully satisfied with the result and some images I originally liked seem to lose some of the spark they had at first yet others seem to enjoy them on first view.
Cheers
Todd
I loved the images and a nice sampling of different ones. I do agree with Steve, the watermarks through the middle really kill a couple of the images because they are so big and in your face.
Hey Tim,
Beautifull images, but I also have to agree with the watermark, it does tend to overtake the photos.
Mike
Watermark: this is entirely because I haven't gone back and redone the ones with the large watermark; the small one replaced it after I received the same advice last year. Take-home message: don't be lazy!!

Hey Tim,
After looking at all the images my comment would be that its a good gallery, but that you could be even more selective.
Great images, and they show a great series of encounters. But the galleries that are truly memorable are the shorter one's where every image has an impact that is not only powerful, but not repeated in the same gallery (shots of the same subject always give you something to compare, and the lesser ones detract from the gallery).
Maybe its just personal preference, but that's my feeling.
Hope that helps, great gallery!

Fewer images, new watermarks...

I think that small differences in screen gamma make a huge difference when looking at monochrome images on computers. My flat screen is calibrated to a gamma of 1.8 and a colour temperature of 6500K, and the monochrome images display from pure black to pure white on a moderately s-shaped luminance curve to give the contrasty images that I was aiming for. Almost everything I've done prints better from Adobe-RGB files than it displays in s-RGB files on the web.
There are a few changes in the (hopefully) improved gallery, compared to the trial exhibition:

I like the improvements Tim. Nice job. The B&W's look fine. I'm sure they look great on your screen. Maybe it's the GIF format that's tweaking them a touch.
Great stuff!
Steve
I like the improvements Tim.
Ta!
