Was that on a night dive? I love the crinoid squat lobsters.

  4. Actually it was a day dive in a shallow coral garden that never went below 20feet. It was the dive we did after the underwater volcano dive.

  5. I'm gonna have to get my mask lenses upgraded - I have problems seeing Manta!

Any Manta at Lang Koi Craig?

No. They didn't even take us there. We got no wide angle dives to speak of.

  7. If you only do the shorter trip they tend to miss it out which in my opinion is ludicrous!

Our thoughts exactly, but that's what they did.

  9. Craig, I rarely spot these guys. Were all these shrimps in already-opened up criniods, or did some of the crinoids need tickling to let you see the shrimps?

  10. I found a squat lobster on a fully open crinoid on a night dive. I chased one shrimp out without disturbing the crinoid at all. Same with a second lobster, The others were shot with the help of another diver or divemaster. The crinoids were left in place.

  11. The one I found was right out in the open and actually quite easy to spot. I think I even passed you within minutes of shooting it David.
