Why is it so interesting to use a teleconverter 1,4 Kenko with the Tokina 10-17 when trying to perform W.A.M ??

Why indeed? And, your question is not ridiculous. I'll give it a shot knowing if I get it wrong, I will surely be corrected. Why pay the penalty of increase focal length ([10-17 : 14-24]mm) and decreased field of view? You have a very wide zoom lens that still close focuses at the original 14 cm (5.5"). The original magnification at close focus was 1:2.56, but with the TC should be about 1:2.05. On a Nikon DX sensor, that ain't bad.
