Is it nobody here who has the Canon 550D?
I haven't tried the 550d but with the 500D you need to go through the menus but it can be done.
You can do it by the same method on other Canon DSLRs. You need to take a picture of whatever you are using for WB (slate, sand, hand, etc.) and then assign that picture to use for WB. Then set the WB to custom. Make sure that the image is properly exposed otherwise your colors could be off. I've done a WB with an overexposed image and it came out puke green underwater.
Being that the Rebel uses multi-function controls on the back of the camera, I can't imagine any underwater housing not having access to WB.
Best regards,
Jim

Unless the switch going from video to stills on your Aquatica housing quits working properly. Then you can no longer change your WB once you are in the video mode and you will quit shooting video the rest of the trip because you can't get the WB correct. This even after you adjusted that one of thirty set screws that keep the housing working because one of the other passengers happened to have an allen wrench small enough to actually work on that one set screw that wasn't holding.
But, hey, it is possible to do MWB on a 7D. At least on that first dive.

You can still do white balance in video mode by taking a still shot in live view video mode. This is how I usually shoot, I don't switch back to stills to do a white balance shot.
Sorry to hear of your troubles with the housing. Let me know if you this has been solved or if you need any assistance.

Hello, thanks for answers!
The reason I ask is because this site http://www.digideep.com/english/digital/ph...OS-550D/7/4027/
claims that the 550 has no function for underwater white balance, while the Canon 7D has.
I wonder where digideep has got this info from?

I would chalk it up to a mistake. Sometimes it happens.
I'll let Andi know.
