Brand new? When did Ikelite make the 100a? Just curious.

Ikelite 100a strobes were manufactured until about 2004. As digital cameras took over ikelite introduced strobes to do dttl. This is a ttl strobe so no ttl with digital camera but manual modes work great.

I used to shooting only manual so I agree. How many different power settings does the 100 have? That might be the only issue.

It has full power and 1/2 power. On digital i use 1/2 power 75% of the time and adjust strobe distance and angles to achieve the shot. Front lighting is boring. I like to experiment as on an 8 gig card i can do 600 shots on raw. And if the subject is cooperative such as cuttlefish i will shoot for the whole dive.
