Ikelite G10 housing - Can I remove the tray?

  1. Hey guys...

Still looking to buy an Ike housing for my G10- found a place in Thailand called "One Stop" that sells em for the list price.

Anyway. Ive got this tray and arm setup I bought for the Canon housing, and I want to use it with the Ikelite housing.

Does the tray/arm detach from the housing itself?

    Thanks for the help!

    Marcus

  2. Sure, just bolt on.

2 bolt holes, probably. Not sure if your other tray will be compatible...

  3. it depends on how handy you are ,

if your tray is big enough for the ikelite housing you could drill the holes

or even make a baseplate / tray out of aluminum flat bar .it may not be as pretty as a commercial one but it works.

just make shure they send you 2 baseplate bolts as the ikelite thread is unusual and not a common size .

if you have the cash and are not that handy just buy one and be done with it.

your tray will unscrew from housing

Be careful with the lenght of the screws!

If they are - even slightly- too long they may crack the housing when you screw them tight,

    so better shorter than longer..

I just made my own tray out of a ss flat bar for my Patima housing and the hardest part where to get the screws.

Two holes for the Patima housing ad 2 holes for the Fantasea flexarm, 2 rivets to fix the flexarm and it was done.

If you are not handy or have no drill just ask a workshop, thew will do that for a few bucks...

P.S. Where are you located to have trouble to find a Ikelite G10 housing?

  6. Im in Bangkok... there arent so many dealers close by that charge a fair price.

The closest place is in Krabi- "One Stop."

Does anyone have pictures of the bottom of the G10 housing? Or better yet, measurements of the space between the bolts?

    Thanks!
