Big Sur Coast and Carmel

  1. Did two dives from the Escapade on Saturday. After what seems like months of low vis, big swells and wind we finally got a day with flat seas and clear, blue water. First dive was a spot we call K2 which is off of Yankee Point on the Big Sur Coast. The second was at Local's Ledge which is just outside the wash rocks at Cypress Point in Carmel. Full gallery with pictures by me and Robert Lee is at this link. Highlights follow:

Wow, great conditions and pics. I don't think you dive with enough equipment though :) .

    Thanks!

First dive was around 150 feet so we needed the doubles and deco tanks for that (and the other team went deeper than we did, hence they brought 2 deco bottles). Second dive was more like 70 feet but it's easier to just stick with the doubles and take a stage bottle of nitrox than to switch to a single tank which would mean bringing more regulators, a different wing, etc.
