SNAP Orlando - my first exhibit

16 posts
  1. This past weekend was the first SNAP Orlando event. I was invited to exhibit 7 images chosen from my website. Five pool images and two underwater animal images were chosen.

SNAP Orlando is a photography exhibition with exhibits from about 30 international and invited local photographers.

The feature photographer this year was Douglas Kirkland.

This is the second time I have used Image Wizards to print on aluminum for me, and the quality of their work was superb.

  2. Hearty Congratulations Jeff! The exhibition looks wonderful. I've never seen the image on your right in the last shot. Where have you been hiding that one? Is the exhibition still open so the folks in Florida can come and take a look?

Congrats Jeff, nicely done and the images look great. :D Agreed, I had a print made by Image Wizards and they do a wonderful job.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately the event only ran for 4 days; though my prints will probably stay up at a few of the local galleries that participated for a while.

  6. They look great Jeff - congrats. I'm interested to hear what you think of the whole exhibition. What was it like interacting with the people, what kind of value did it generate for you?

Hard to know yet where it may lead, but I did get some good feedback on Facebook etc about some of my images. There were a couple of events where we got to mingle with some marketing folks, meet Douglas Kirkland etc. Unfortunately no sales, but it seems they did not generate much in the way of sales for any of the photographers. I think they were quite pleased with the turnout for the first year.

Mostly I think it generated some awareness that I do this in addition to my 'day job', so hopefully I'll start to see a little cross-marketing for both endevours.

  8. Hey buddy congrats !

Glad to see some exquisite images for the first time ( i.e. the first one, the b&w and the last at your left ) .

    Keep going

  10. That's fantastic, Jeff.

  11. Wow Jeff !!!

Stunning work and they look really impressive at that size.

Can I ask how much Image Wizards charge for a print of that size?

    Well done you :)

  12. Thanks again guys. Nige the two largest were just over $600. I think the range was $350 to about $625. It's not cheap, but remember that's ready to hang built onto a very professional looking aluminium tubular frame. So when one considers the alternatives with matting and framing etc, it's not bad. You can easily price images by going on their website http://www.imagewizards.net

They send initial proof pieces, found them easy to deal with. I imagine shipping for the UK may be a little pricey.

  13. They look great! Congrats.

Thanks Jeff, I'll check them out but the $ to £ is a bit of a hinderence at the moment may search the UK for alternatives.

BTW I really like your pool work, absolutely takes my breath away.

  15. Congrats Jeff!!! :)

  16. As Steve says, That woman in the red on the last shot is an amazing piece of art. Congratulations to you and I hope all of your hard work gets the recognition it deserves.
