  1. Hi all,

I got a new Z240 strobe but the user manual it's only in japanese.

Is there someone who has the english version out there?

Could you help me in some way?

    Thank you in advance

  2. Ahoy There Long John Silver!

I've scanned and pillaged my English version to a PDF and would be happy to email it to you. Arrrrgggghhhh!

    Cheers,

    Jim.

    Hi Jim,

    You have mail :)

  4. Why does inon hide their manuals and place the serial# on the cover? It would be nice if there place the manuals online.

I've never read a more complicated and diffucult to understand manual.

It's really much simpler than it looks: there is, after all, only one knob and one button that isn't self-explanatory. The way in which the power knob is used in the opposite direction when using sTTL compared to manual (optical link)is a bit tricky, and the proper setting of the mode button, depending on the exact camera and whether or not an electrical cable is used, are actually the only difficult things to work out.

  7. I have an (e)copy of the manual which you are welcome to. But frankly, its neither use nor ornament... But I have accumulated a set of third party documents which are far better. Ping me if you wish me to help :-)

I would like to have your third party information on Inon Z-240 since I'm new to them and I'm looking for tutorials or information which gives some instruction as well as suggestions which might help an inexperienced u/w dslr photographer. Please email anything that you can to:

    Thanks.

  9. FYI people, disseminating the PDF is probably going against the copyrights of Inon. You probably won't get caught but just know it is probably breaking copyright law by sending it around.

Riddle me this: why do inon not publish there manuals. There are no secrets in it. Also useless with out a inon strobe.

Agreed it may be against the letter of the law, but can't see any action happening against one Inon product user sharing an Inon manual with another Inon product user. Can you? :D

    Cheers,

    Jim.

It's very simple. The manual was created for english reading markets and to prevent grey market imports from under cutting the dealers in the respective country. One can argue the wisdom of this but that's beside the point. It's still copyrighted material. I just want to make sure WP is not liable for publicly being the hub of distribution of copyrighted material, however insignificant.

I totally agree with not get WP in trouble. I can definitely argue with inon wisdom but i will not :-)

Tim, I envy you. I'm currently struggling to understand how my new Z240s work, and even if my manual were in japanese, it wouldn't have been worse thant the english versions!

If one day you feel like publishing a tutorial, or if you or anyone knows a nice tutorial to explain how these flashes work, I'd be very happy to read it.

Before a few wetpixel searches, I wasn't even sure that my Nikon D7000 (Hugyfot housing) would be able to trigger S-TTL optically! I have browsed both manuals and Inon website without any clear information on that!!
