Need Help.
I recently bought an Ikelite housing for my Canon G5. Need to know what strobe choices do I have if I want to hot wired it to the Ikelite housing. Exactly what make/brand/model and what type of cable do I need?
Thanks. ![]()

Motz request from November 3 is unanswered and begs for a blatant commercial? Links on the following URL show the strobes Ikelite suggests:

Ike,
will the following $500 package work well with my Canon G5 and the G5 Ikelite housing?
#3944.41 Digital Package ($ 500) includes:
#4103 TTL Sync Cord
#4044 DS-50 SubStrobe with #0561.2 diffuser
#4075.1 Strobe Arm system
http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/substrobe_dig50.html
OR would I be better of with the slave sensor package for this camera?
#3944.40 Digital Package ($ 500) includes:
#4100.5 TTL Slave Sensor
#4044 DS-50 SubStrobe with #0561.2 diffuser
#4075.1 Strobe Arm system
I am still undecided on choice of strobes and there is not much info on G5 set up.
Pls advice, many thanks.
#3944.40 with TTL Sensor works well with this camera. #3944.44 with Manual Controller will give you total exposure control and can be attached with a #4103 sync cord or triggered by slave in the Controller. You might consider the similar packages with deluxe ball arm system.
I have a Cannon G5 and am interested in the Ikelite housing with TTL. The catalog I was looking through implied that #4103 TTL Sync Cord#3944.40 with TTL Sensor works well with this camera. #3944.44 with Manual Controller will give you total exposure control and can be attached with a #4103 sync cord or triggered by slave in the Controller. didn't work with the G5...
If it does work, I'll be very happy.
I don't think you can get a TTL housing for the Canon G5. Ike had "deciphered" the TTL for Olympus cameras, but not Canon.
Ike will surely correct me if I'm wrong...:-)
Cheers
James
Either sync cord is fine. TTL with a sync cord is not available for Canon, but we are working on it. The #4100.5 TTL Sensor can be used, but #4100.6 EV Manual Controller is recommended choice.
