Need some help choosing an image for the Foundation
7 posts
My son Jeff snuck off during his honeymoon in the Bahamas for a day of diving with the Stewarts Cove operation. The Fin Foundation has been asked to support the University here with a show in the Flandrau Science Center in August. We'll be putting up some of our shark images. I asked Jeff to see if he could get a nice portrait to add to the show. What do you guys think? Is one of these good enough? He used his Canon XTi and the 60mm with the 110's. Just for the record he got a touch closer than Dad expected for his first shark dive. Kids.
Shark Face A
Shark Face B
Shark face C
We'll also add the winner to the Fin Foundation Images website. If you want to see a larger version you can check them out on the Flickr Site
Thanks for the help!
Steve
Steve - I like the detail in the second one - but the "smile" in the last one makes for a fun picture.
Have a great day - DiverPam
I meant to click B but clicked A by mistake. Grrr. But all 3 are nice. Its the eye to eye impact that sets that one apart for me.
Steve,
The eye detail, upward angle and exposure in the second one set it apart, but the fact that the mouth is cropped off dampens it a bit. The first one does nothing for me and the last one is ok, but I find the background a bit distracting. So 2 or 3...

Hi Steve!
First one is cropped so tightly (or shot so close) that I did not understand the whole picture at first climps.
Second one is with great detail and eye contact, but again cropped so, that mouth is not visible - for me distracting.
So C for me
Cheers
Karel
Thanks folks, just for the record these are "as shot" no cropping in post. The consensus seems to be the second one. When you display them large and full screen I like the third one a little better because of the nicer color and you can see the whole face. Agree that the background is a problem though.
