Over heard someone saying that they use CRC 808 silicone spray (http://www.crcind.com.au/catalogue.nsf/web_brands/808+Silicone+Spray?openDocument) for buttons and dials on their metal housings. According to the CRC website the CRC808 is a concentrated formula that provides a thin, durable, odourless film that lubricates, waterproofs and protects all metal, plastic, rubber, fabric, wood, and painted surfaces
What is everyones opinion and is there another product which would be more suited to the task?
Regards Mark
Read the MSDS. There are additives that are quite possibly not friendly to o-ring material. You would not typically use silicone spray on the surfaces mentioned (except rubber). What type of rubber? I suggest not using this compound on o-rings. Stay with generic silicone spray for buna N o-rings (black ones). If you have other o-ring material use compatible lubricant only.
