Spirit of Niugini is no longer taking bookings

I just got wind that the live-aboard Spirit of Niugini will be undergoing much needed maintenance and will then be sold. Those who have booked a trip on the boat will be rescheduled on another boat or canceled and refunded. They will probably try to put people on the Chertan. I had an absolutely horrible experience on the Spirit of Niugini two years ago. The boat was a mess when it got out of a long dry dock and should have never gone out in my opinion. I didn't board the Chertan, but saw it anchored nearby and it too looked like it was in dire need of a renovation. It looked like an old fishing boat. Nothing like the pics on their website. If you've got a booking on that boat, you might opt to stay at Tawali instead.

Or book with Alan Raabe on the FeBrina. I spend a lot of time on that boat over the years and love her and the crew. She was recently redone down below and she is very nice.
