  1. Just completed a week with Stephen Frink at one of his Digital Master Classes in Key Largo, Florida that he conducts each summer, my second year attending Stephen's class which is always one of the highlights of my year.

I feel very lucky being able to attend as Stephen is one of our industries leaders, his photography an inspiration and current work at the helm of Alert Diver has revitalized that publication.

We had Eddie Tapp, one of the leading Photoshop experts with us for a few days sharing some of the new features in Photoshop CS5 and showing us some techniques that are specifically useful to our type of photography.

Here are a few shots taken during the week.

  2. Hi gary, you have some nice subjects there but to me they just dont seem sharp. There are a few shots there that should have the main subject popping out of the screen but they seem to be lacking sharpness. I dont know if they look flat to others, or whether it is the budget laptop I am using to view them on. Have you put them through any PP or are they straight from camera. More importantly what did Stephen Frink say about them. After all he is the man.

    Hi Stew,

I think that viewing them from the Zenfolio link somehow doesn't make them look their best. I can't quite figure the best way to upload the images directly onto Wetpixel. It might be your laptop as well as they don't look as good on my 6 year old Dell monitor as they do on my new Macbook Pro.

We dove a two tanker every morning and then submitted our best 7 each day for critique and a final 10 on the last day for a group slideshow.

Your right, he is the man!

    Thanks,

    Gary

  4. They look fine on my new MacBook Pro as well. Some nice images in there. Looks like a great time was had. Well done.

  5. Hello Everyone,

189 views and only 2 comments?

  6. A good job of getting the subject and not blowing out highlights on the silver scales on photo 42.

The sharpness is not all that good on my desktop + monitor.

Alert Diver has indeed moved up in quality recently...its quite nice now.

  7. I tried to see it today but the link doesn't work for me, is the gallery still up?
