Diving in Spain

  1. Hi Folks,

I'm interested in finding out if the diving is any good just north of Barcelona. I've found a few dive spots about 2 hours north of Barcelona and am willing to drive if it's worth visiting.

I'm going to be there in two weeks: Nov. 22 - Nov. 30th and will potentially have a dive buddy who's meeting me from Italy (whom I know from the bay area.) Has anyone dove there and have any feedback for me? I expect it to be chilly and am trying to decide whether lugging my gear will be worth it ...

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!!!

  2. there is very good diving at l'estartit on the costa brava with the national reserves of the Medes Islands.

note that the number of diver per day is limited out there, and though it is very late in the season, you still would want to book i think.

i have never been to the places below but they have been used by some divers on the french diving portal www.plongeur.com:

a little further north is cap creus which is a national reserve as well.

enjoy and keep us posted, always looking for good mediterranean dive sites not too far from here..
