Dramatic Lighting or just "poor"

  1. Hello all,

Shot this Catalina Nudi yesterday with Fuji S2/Ike housing with single DS-125 strobe using 60mm lens and close up wet diopter at F27 and 1/60.

Tried to light the subject from the side and slightly from rear to place the head in the shadow. I'm not sure if I achieved a dramatic appearance or it's just plain lousy lighting.

    Appreciate your thoughts,

    John

  2. The lighting on the Nudi is not bad in itself, but having the background so well lit is distracting and IMHO takes away from the subject too much.

    cheers

  3. Lndr,

I completely agree about the backround. I really like the lighting on the nudi, but I really didn't like the shot overall. I think it would've looked pretty cool with the backround black.

    Thanks,

    John

  4. and maybe with just a little more light on the "nose" :D

    nice Nudi BTW
