  1. I'm planning a trip to the Red Sea in november. We will be diving mostly on wrecks (north route). I can buy for less money a Nikon 20 mm f2.8 lens. Is this lens usefull for wreck photography ?

I almost exclusively used the 20mm Nikkor (with a plus 2 dioptre) when shooting on film so it would be equally good for FX although nowadays I'm in love with the 16mm fish-eye for that format. On DX like your N90 it will be of limited use. It is an expensive lens and excellent on FX when used in air.

  3. The Nikon 20 mm is 94-degree for full frame, and 70-degree for Nikon DX format. Up to you to decide whether it's wide enough for what you do, considering distance light, and water clarity. 12-24 DX would give more options, or the 10.5 fisheye if that kind of image format appeals to you.

Consider a used Kenko pro 1.4 teleconverter, a port externsion (may be?), and a second strobe for your Tokina 10-17.

  6. Ok, thanks for the advice folks!

I think i will keep it simple and use my Tokina 10-17mm, with my aquatica 6' dome on my trip.

It will do i presume (hope) for my first wreckphotography.
