OLED problems with L&M Bluray

  1. Hi guys, I have a problem with the OLED monitor of my 2009 Bluefin (for XR500). The colours appear differently than on the camera's monitor (which I can see through the housing by the window on left side for manual WB). In tendency the colours are always 'warmer' means too much yellowish. I have tried different setting via OLED menu, but still discrepancies. Any ideas?

IMHO it's perfectly normal there are discrepancies and nobody can evaluate WB or colours through the camcorder/housing display. You can check focus and composition.

Have a look on these articles on smartphone diplays to see how many differencies there are:

Ok, but the whole chain of camera monitor, ouput to LCD TV and files on PC in postproduction look more or less equal. JUst the OLED has this bigger discrepancy.....

To all L&M OLED users: which OLED menu settings have you taken?

  4. If L&M cannot help you with calibration, you'll have to do it yourself, if the OLED allows such manual calibration.

Hi Sascha, I have the same issue, and have spent quite a bit of time adjusting settings etc. to try and get it close, and have had very little luck! ^_^ It is always like you describe, too hot, and very hard to improve! It is a great clear image on the screens, but seems impossible to get close to correct colour temp.

I will always use the side screen just to quicly check lighting is looking ok, and is even, then use Oled screen for composition only. It is a pain that the screens aren't better, especially considering the price to upgrade at the time, and I wonder if the 2010 Oled screens are any better, or whether they still use the same model?
