Keys dive pictures!

  1. I've been lurking here for awhile, and just got a chance to take my first pictures down in the keys. Thanks to all of you, things worked out better than I could imagine. This is my first attempt, so any constructive crtiticism is appreciated. I'd also like to hear what you may have particularly enjoyed.

    Camera: Olympus C-3000

    Housing: Olympus PT-010

  2. Hi Greg,

    Welcome to wetpixel.

These look great for your first time out. It looks like you had som pretty cooperative subjects.

You can get some pretty good pictures with they Olympus system, but you need to get close to make the most of the camera's internal flash. If the camera focuses at around 8 inches, then try to take most of your shots between 8 inches and 2 feet. You will be happiest with the results if you stay in that "sweet spot" because you will get the best color.

Some rules of thumb that might help you:

    Get close

    Shoot upwards

Shoot fish from the front if possible

And most important of all - make SURE to check out Jeff Farris's webpage on the Olympus camera and PT housing. IMO, he is the "godfather" of UW shooting with this setup.

    Cheers

  3. Thanks james. Do you have a link for Jeff's website?

  4. His nick is Sharpdiver. I tried doing a search to find his Olympus primer but I couldn't find it. Why don't you shoot him a PM?

    Cheers
