Which operator in Grand Bahama?

2 posts
  1. I shall be arriving to Grand Bahama on 27th Oct 2010 and shall be staying near Port Lucaya for 14 days.

This will be my first experience in Caribbean Region. All my previous diving vacations were in Asian locations and Red Sea.

I am trying to determine which dive operator would be the best choice for me.

The alternatives i could find from the internet are:

    1. Unexso

    2. Xanadu

    3. Sunn Odyssey Divers

    4. Grand Bahama Scuba

My preferences are less crowded boats, more personnel service, reliability.

I would be glad to hear experiences and advices of others who has experience with these or any other dive operator in Grand Bahama who organized day trips.

  2. Now that i have started packing i am trying to sort out what really is essential for this trip.

I'll be flying with British Airways economy class and from what i read in this forum excess luggage shall be an issue.

I do not have previous experience in the Caribbean region. Based on what i've seen in internet resources i am planning to take my dome port and extensions together with Tokina 10-

    17mm and Nikon 12-24mm.

I am also planning to take one flat port and 60mm macro.

Whereas i am thinking whether it is worthwhile to get the 105mm and its port with me.

I would appreciate to hear your advice concerning macro objects in dives around Grand Bahama island.

Is it worthwhile to carry ports and lenses for macro for a vacation in Grand Bahama?
