  1. So I have a VX2000 and a housing by Fisheye Japan that I probably should have sold years ago but didn't.

I was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas what to do with it?

  2. I gave away my old VX2000 and Ikelite housing to a marine biology program in Africa which had no money for anything. My PD150 and old laptop were given to a school with no money for a AV program. I still get a DVD every year from that school with all the projects. You can probably sell it in LDC which still use SD cameras but it won't bring in much.

  3. I have a DCR VX 2000 that was fried in a flood in Tahiti many years ago. This occurred an hour or so after having bragged that I never had a flood. I still keep it as a reminder to try to stay humble. It also makes a great doorstop.

PS. I think Drew's suggestion is a great one. Donate it to people who could really use it. When I was leading safaris in Kenya, I would have all my guests bringing pens, paper, notebooks and the like to donate to the local schools which desperately needed materials. Everyone was always greatly appreciative. In Kenya, parents have to pay for the children's education and most cannot afford to so donations really are a godsend.

  4. My VX2000 with Canon WD-58 wide converter is my webcam :)

  5. We still use VX200 for daily UW videos, good enough for low price DVDs.

If you don't plan sending it to Africa, I'll get it and pay postage costs to Australia :D

  6. Thanks for the helpful advice from you all.

I am going to hang on for a bit but may well go down the charity route.
