  1. Any advice for either of these destinatins would be gratefully received.

I sat and watched a sales pitch/chat at a UK dive show by Mike the skipper of the Nautilus Explorer. With Socorro being on my list of places I want to dive, I made mysef comfortable and listened to the pitch. I was sold and knew that I had to go there. I made an enquiry regard a trip that the boat only does once a year and that was the Guadalupe/Socorro combo. Like I say this was a few years ago and what joy I had on my face when I opened up an email the other day telling me that a couple of places were available for the combo trip in 2013. Obviously we are booked and very excited even if it is 3 years away. The trip is for November 2013. If anyone can pass on any info for diving either of these places at this time of year I would be grateful.

  2. That sounds like a lot of boat time between islands!

    :)

  3. Over 735 nautical miles from Guadalupe to Socorro. Lets see, she does about 10 knots so that's 2.5 to 3 days running time. It's downhill so should be an easy run if you enjoy quartering swells. Going back up would be a bear, into the wind and swell all the way. Tell them you want to get off at Cabo San Lucas and drink.

    Have fun,

Day3 4 and 5 cage diving until 5pm on day 5 then depart for San Benitos

Day 6 Arrive 10.30am San Benitos and dive

Day 7 San Benitos diving depart at 6pm for Socorro

Day 8 and 9 at sea

    Day 10 San Benidicto

    Day 11 Socorro

    Day 12 Roca Partida

    Day 13 Roca Partida

Day 14 San Benidict depart at 7pm

    Day 15at sea - dock 10pm

Day 16 say good bye to my new friends

So although there is a lot of miles to cover there is still a fair bit of diving to be done. 2013 trip is fully booked so is 2014 and people are booking for 2015 already so this is a popular trip.

    Stew.
