I dive mostly in Denmark, where dark water and short sight (0.5 to 10meters) is normal. I´ve got a Olympus c-5050 and i´m wondering wether to use permanent "video light" or to use a flash? Enyone inhere have expirience of fotographing in "Northen water" and therefore can conclude wether permanent light (and what type of light then) og a flash (and what type of flash)?

    Regards Jens

  2. Jens,

I would recommend strobes for 2 reasons. For one, in order to get more than a black background, you will have to increase your exposure time to a point where you risk blurred pictures. The short strobe flash will make sure your main objects are sharp.

Secondly, in dark waters, a permanent bright light tends to scare your objects away.
