Ike's manual controller with non DS strobes

I have MANY non-"DS" ike strobes and a few nikon strobes. Question can the Ikelite manual controller work with these non "DS" strobes. I seen to remember that Subal (I think) makes a housing with a similar feature that works with various strobes.

According to the Ikelite web site, the controller can only be used with DS series substrobes. Follow this link for further clarification:

Ikelite also originally stated that the T connector could not be used with non Ikelite (enemy) strobes, but in fact it works just fine.
