The incredible Philippine Malapascua diving , I recommend sea explorer dive shop and their new opening dive resort ( ocean villa beach and dive resort since Dec. 2010, we are the first guest), a beautiful place with beach-front big room,hot shower , air condition , nearby resturant, few steps walking distance to dive shop,very convinient for early morning shark diving ( 05:00 AM ). The manager Mr. Sven is a nice germany , very cooperative to arrange everything for you. The descriptions for dive sites :
1. Shark diving : dive site " monad shoal ", 30 min boat ride , 5 AM meet at dive shop , 15-22 m in depth,32% nitrox tank to lasting bottom time up to 50 min . the earlier you go, the greater chance to see the thresher shark.
2. wreck diving : 70 min boat ride,the 20 year-old ferry wreck " Dona marilyn ",the whole wreck is covered with black coral ( sea tree ) . 18-30 m in depth, 32% nitrox tank is recommended .
3. Reef diving :
a. Gato island : 50 min boat ride, many underwater rocks are covered with different colors of soft corals , 5-20 m in depth, air tank is OK, critters : pairs of spider crab , Nudi , frogfish, seahorse , underwater tunnel with white tip shark , good for wide-angle and macro-photography .
b.Deep rock :10 min boat ride , an underwater pinnacle , 13-30 m in depth, 32% nitrox tank , the wall is covered with very beautiful red-color soft corals , 22-27 m sandy slope with countless fire sea urchin with zebra crab, Colemen's shrimp living , Nudi, soft coral crabs. good site for wide-angle and macro-photography.
4. Mandarin diving : dive site " lighthouse " , 5 min boat ride, sunset dive , many mandarin fish mating everyday , seahorse , pipefish , and blue-ring octopus if you are lucky.
