Sartek Lights for Video

  1. Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience and opinions to share regarding the lights made by Sartek

  2. I've had a Sartek 10w HID for about 6 years and can only say great things about their build quality, function and robustness. Their grey canisters are near bombproof, small, great switch, etc...

That said, I've upgraded my 10w HID head to a 4xLED DIY job because I think they're falling behind in terms of lumen output. I can't speak about their video lights specifically, but their LED1500VW looks pretty interesting and on the money at $375 per head (looks similar to what I'm using).

  3. Thanks for the feedback.

  4. Steve-

I had Carl (the owner) from Sartek rework my L&M HID lights after I got tired of the shorter burn times despite replacing batteries.

He spliced my light cables to fit his battery pods in such a way that I can still use either light on my other L&M housing if needed.

I now get double the burn time though it's a bit heavier.

He is a very nice guy and stands behind his product.

Can't speak for the light quality with all the new ones coming out.

One thing though, you will get some interesting conversations going thru check in at airports with two gray canisters that have wires coming out the top.......

Next time we come out to SD I'd be happy to show the rig to you.

    John

  5. Yes, I have spoken to Carl and he is indeed a great guy. Apparently, he helped you quite a bit.

Let me know when you're next in town.
