I'm using a UFL-1 with a G10 and I really like my newfound source of light (guys with two 1400$ strobes are wincing right now )
I am thinking about getting another ufl-1 and wondering what more knowledgeable people think.
I do photography mostly in low vis areas (north atlantic and fresh water) and do mostly close up shots. I don't have a WA wet lens.
As for passing to DSLR.. the DSLRs will have to impress me quite a bit before I choose to pay the extra 5000$ for what amounts mostly to shutter speed... I do like the canon 7d but I guess I'm waiting for something that's not in production yet I do own a DSLR but it's even more noisy than my g10 (Olympus e520)
Hello all,

If one is working for you then another will balance the light better. The only question is whether you want to take it to a DSLR later and maybe do some WA stuff. If yes then get yourself a main flash and use your UFL1 as a slave. I would suggest an Inon Z240, or a D or S 2000 although they are not as powerful. More power the better in my book.
I will surely get a Z240 in the near future.
For now I ordered a second UFL-1 at 180$. This will help me balance my shots.
Hopefully by the time I really start to "get" underwater photography, the camera I want is going to be available. Right now I'm not willing to commit 3000$ to house a camera that is slightly better than my little g10. I do like the 7d though. Really not sure I would prefer a full frame.
