some cozumel pics

  1. I just returned from a Cozumel trip where the diving was very good (as usual). One of my strobes died, so I dispensed with wide angle for this trip and used the opportunity to practice with my new lens (Nikkor 105 micro). Here are a few shots.

  2. Cool Erwin, those toadfish are so hard to light. Fish portraits with the 105/100mm lenses are fun huh?

Thanks Steve. It is fun taking pics of the toadfish. At least they stay put! I just bought the 105mm lens, and I like it very much. One of my strobes had broken just before the trip, so I figured I would use the trip as an opportunity to practice with it, and it was sort of liberating, not having to make the choice between lenses before each dive.

  5. I really like the toadfish shot. They are such fun to look for. Have you ever seen one out in the open?! They have such brillant yellow colors on them. Nice macro shots. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Thanks Karel and Pam. And yes, I have seen a toadfish out in the open once, Pam. You are right, its body did not match what I was expecting at all, either in shape or color. They are very odd creatures. Cheers, Erwin
