The beautiful Green island in Taiwan

Hi Divers :

I'll introduce 2 great dive sites -steel reef and chicken reef , located at off-shore green island of Taiwan.

1. Steel reef : 4 square-shaped steel-made artificial reef , water depth: 20-30 meters , visibility: 20-30 meters , a big group of bat fish ( more than 30 ) lived here, the steel structures were covered with many colors of huge soft coral, sea fans, mimic truk wreck , so I say this is Taiwan's truk steel wreck . the artificial steel reef was in the water for 7 years only.

2. Chicken reef : very close to steel reef , a great sites for sea fan forest , water depth : 15-30 meters , visibility : 20-30 meters, a small rock similar to chicken mouth. nitrox tank is available here and highly recommended for U/w photographer.

Welcome to Taiwan, fly to taipei, then transfer to domestic flight to Tatong city ( 5 flights per day ), finally take ferry from Tatong city to green island ( one hour by ferry ,or you can take small inter-island air plane from Tatong to green island , only 10 min ). many dive shop in green island ( air fish , www.dive.com.tw ).

Wow looks like a great spot! I lived there in the mid 80s when still under Marshall Law, no diving allowed. Are there other spots like this around Taiwan?

I do miss diving in Taiwan.
