  2. It's a blenny, but very hard to tell the species, where was it photographed?

  3. Roatan, Honduras

  4. That is the Bay of Honduras blackhead blenny, Emblemariopsis pricei. Yours is a non-territorial male, when they become territorial their head goes completely black.

I am working on the taxonomy of that group, can you e-mail me a larger version of that photo, if possible? I am comparing the spots on them in fine detail. Any other little blenny photos from the caribbean may also be helpful. My e-mail is ben@coralreeffish.com

I recently used the Wilks photos to straighten out the flagfin blenny- pix and papers on my website

  5. Excellent paper, Ben. I was intrigued by one sentence "Photographs of preserved specimens were processed, edited, and remodeled with Photoshop software." First, by your use of the word "remodeled" and second that you put it in at all. Did the journal or a reviewer ask for the statement? I've heard that some journals are getting very particular about photoshopped images.
